Asbestos Removal

Asbestos actually is fibrous silicate minerals and has been used for years in old buildings and businesses, mainly for its insulating properties. It is fire resistant, doesn't contuct electricity and is good for sound proofing as well. But, asbestos has been found to be very toxic, and banned for most of its uses 1989 by the Environmental Protection Agency. In 1991, the use of asbestos in trace amounts was allowed in some products. Using it in large amounts as an insulator is forbidden. This only stopped future buildings from being constructed using asbestos as a material. No guidelines were set out for existings constructions with asbestos contained. Hiring a professional or taking a handyman course will be a good idea.
